Schopfer Associates was tasked with creating both the UFO Museum and a consolidated UFO campus plan for the newly acquired three-acre downtown site. The plan includes the new museum facility, adjacent parking, open event space and a new hotel.

The hotel is designed to be adjacent to the museum and in essence capture the spirit and intent of the museum mission. One of the legends of Roswell is Hanger 18. To the ardent UFO enthusiast, Hanger 18 is the warehouse for all accumulated UFO physical evidence debris, alien bodies, and vast reservoir of Project Blue Book research. Hanger 18 became our design inspiration. Our design accordingly takes an outwardly minimal appearance of stacked warehouse containers with no actual indication of the building’s use. Once inside, the guest encounters a discarded hanger/ industrial space with stripped down informal array of furniture, artifacts and illustrations. This theme continues into all guest rooms and the main restaurant.
